Jordan Thomas for Houston City Council

Identity, Website, Print, 2025

A first time candidate has to look like a frontrunner before anyone treats him like one.

Campaign logo lockup. Condensed navy and gold type with the Houston street grid running through the mark and the field behind it.

Context

Jordan Thomas ran at large in Houston against ten better known opponents. Voters scroll past dozens of names. The ones who look funded get a second look. The ones who look homemade don't.

What I did

I built the identity around the city itself. Houston's street grid runs through the mark and the field behind it. Bold condensed type, navy and gold, name first and endorsement second. Then I designed and built the campaign site and the full print system: yard signs, palm cards, and mailers.

Outcome

He finished third with 28,892 votes in his first run for office.

Vote November 4 social graphic. Candidate portrait, early voting dates and the Houston Chronicle endorsement in one square.
Infrastructure for People poster. Candidate photographed at a METRO platform, with the lockup and election date carried below.
Issue graphic on vacant public lots, pairing a still from a neighbourhood conversation with the campaign type system.
Fundraiser invitation. Event details and contribution levels set in the campaign palette over the street grid field.
Houston Chronicle editorial board endorsement, with the quote set as the dominant element under the photograph.
Endorsement card. The lockup and the Chronicle endorsement on the street grid field, sized for a feed.
Campaign tee, front and back. The lockup and endorsement line printed at chest height in navy and gold.
